Research
My research is concerned with understanding human behaviour by using pattern recognition. My aim is to improve the interaction between humans and computers and enable us to better understand our social interactions.
My experience lies heavily within computer vision and machine learning. Past work includes developing from scratch a system for recognising emotions from speech in real-time; developing a system for analysing public speaking skills for speech coaching; and using computer vision together with robotics to enable a robot to mimic facial expressions. My ongoing work is on recognising facial micro-expressions.
